I was at the dentist just a little while ago. They numbed half of my face up. My tongue was totally dead (still is). I get worried because it feels like a big lump of jellied eel and I was scared that I would swallow it. To allay this fear I tried to keep it sticking out a bit and anchored to the corner of my mouth that still has feeling. During the procedure I had to keep shifting my tongue so that I would be at ease, you know, emotionally. In doing so, I think the attractive technician who was scraping and scaling me thought I was trying to lick her fingers. That made me self-conscious. When it was over she thanked me for being a delight to work with. Then she licked my fingers.
