Here are some words a friend of mine (I won’t divulge who because I believe that they would not dig the unsolicited attention) laid on me. I think they are some of the best ever written and a Monday morning on the first day of school seems like a good time to share them:
“Just keep following your inner “imp” as you do. The imp is your savior. He may get crucified, he may be ignored, he may never feel satisfied, but that’s okay. That is exactly why he keeps going.
I must tell myself these things constantly. Just hang on. Although to be completely understood is a glorious feeling – sometimes being misunderstood is the better effect. Because when people don’t “get it,” this means there is actually something to get. That is worth all the pain in the world.”
WOWZER-happy first day of school! Go do your BEST!
