Awww death…Damn that it has to be countenanced from time to rotten time. Funny thing about death; when someone you know pays that final bill it shakes loose strange and specific memories from the pale greasy folds of your primal C.P.U. Even if it’s someone that you haven’t thought about in twenty plus years, when word comes that the reaper’s done his dirt, well, it’s amazing how the nervous system starts spitting out minute images in your brain and how you can relive moments from your past that seemed, at the time, destined to be relegated to the minutiae rolls of your life’s movie reel. But damn if that picture isn’t HD clear and the sound isn’t some bitchin’ hi-fi when you find out that someone from your past is forever gone. Every memory you have about them comes into sharp focus-no matter how “small” your connection might have seemed. All of this to say-I remember jamming this song with you Chris…It was the ’80s, dude, and you were always nice to me and, god damn it, that’s enough to make me miss you now that you’re gone.
