King Canute is considered one of the best of the Pre-Norman English Kings

By Seamus O'Sparks on October 17, 2013 — 1 min read

King Canute is considered one of the best of the Pre-Norman English Kings. The story goes that he had his throne taken to the coastline where he commanded the waves to stop before him. After issuing this command his throne, and feet, and flowing kingly robes were immediately soaked by the disobedient sea. He did this to prove to his courtiers and all sycophants that a King has limited powers and is only a man. So, this morning the same thing happened to me. The toilet began to overflow and I commanded the waters to STOP! My throne and feet and kingly robes were then immediately soaked. Guess I’ve got limited powers too…CHASCA CDs and HALLOWEEN SHOWS do NOT have limited powers-see y’all soon!
