I was at a gas station on the east side of Austin and I bought a honey bun and ate it outside. I had not really combed my hair and was looking generally “dressed down.” This guy came up to me and asked me how I was doing. I said, “fine.” He told me there was a church down the street where I could get free food. Then he told me to “hang in there.” So much for my glam rock pretensions.
